Some of the best lobster we’ve had on our trip was at Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound, just across the bridge from our Oceanside KOA Campground spot which ain’t too shabby either! In fact, the lobster was so good that we sent some down to Miami to our friend’s ‘Daddy’s’ 90th birthday family celebration. And, you can go to the site above and order yourself. It’s delivered next day either cooked or not, and our friends told us that it was delicious after making the overnight trip. We intend to take advantage of their delivery when we get back to the ‘left coast’.
As you can see, they cook the lobster right outside the very simply shop. The heat the boiling water with wood. The owner, third generation, says that the wood still has embers the next day to start their 8am takeout biz. The shop opens at 11am.
You pay for EVERYTHING separately, including $.80 for the melted butter!! We had some delicious Quahog clams which was probably more than we should have ordered. The lobster was cooked perfectly as was the corn. It was tender and juicy. We enjoyed a $19 bottle of Angeline 2012 Reserve Chardonnay that I have to say was way better than the price.
